Purpose- Re- think the way we think about interactions.

Explanation
Thinking about our role in interactions can help us get more out of our interactions. In this exercise we explain 3 roles to consider in interactions.

Interaction Roles
Learning: In interactions where you have no premeditated goal, it is an opportunity to focus on learning from and about the other person or people in the interaction.
Leading: In these interactions, you have a premeditated goal and must manage the interaction to take control of the outcome.
Co-regulating: In these interactions, the aim is to achieve a shared goal. Your role changes and is dependent on the other participants in the interaction. The co-regulating interaction only works if everyone shares the same goal.
Summary:
-
In learning interactions, it is important to think actively. Pay close attention to all your senses and focus not only on the words but the actions and environment you are in.
-
In leading interactions, you should have a clear objective and task to achieve. Learn skills to improve your ability to lead and influence others.
-
In co-regulating interactions, know your goal and team. If you understand these, you can adapt your role and leverage the skills of others to achieve your common goal.
